Support for the Booth Society Friends Group for DC Booth HNFH: This project is for the purpose of promoting, preserving and enhancing the educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities at D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery, in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, for the benefit and enjoyment of the public. All activities will be related to conservation and management goals related to visitor services, volunteer programming, public outreach, youth education, cultural resource protection/preservation, and AIS awareness. D.C. Booth receives over 160,000 visitors and 14,000 volunteer hours annually. This project will be instrumental in providing visitor services, public outreach, educational opportunities, and a safe environment to over 160,000 visitors annually. The project is also vital to the recruitment, training and supervision of scores of volunteers who annually donate over 14,000 volunteer hours to the facility -almost equivalent to 7 FTE. This project also partners with the City of Spearfish and the Booth Society for the benefit of local and regional communities.
