Technical Assistance for Implementing Key Forestry Conservation Objectives in South Carolina: The purpose of this announcement is to work with a partner to assist interested landowners with the application process, the implementation of forestry conservation practices, provide follow-up assistance and guidance. Personnel working under this agreement will provide technical assistance within ALL COUNTIES of South Carolina. The technical assistance provided will be to develop Forest Management Conservation Plans and certification of those recommended practices as they are installed. The long-term conservation partnership serves to facilitate the implementation of planned conservation practices that have been or possibly will be funded through Farm Bill conservation Programs. The objectives of this agreement are to reduce soil erosion and protect top soil: to help bring about the conservation, development and wise use of land, water and related resources. The results of this effort will strengthen, increase and encourage the voluntary approach and participation of private landowners to successfully implement USDA Programs administered by NRCS. Technical assistance services are defined as: Technical expertise, information, training , education , and tools necessary for a producer to be able to successfully implement, operate, and maintain the conservation of natural resources on land active in agricultural, forestry, or related uses. The term includes: • Technical services provided directly to farmers, ranchers, and other eligible entities, such as conservation planning, technical consultation, and assistance with design and implementation of conservation practices; and • Technical infrastructure, including activities, processes, tools, and agency functions needed to support delivery of technical services, such as technical standards, resource inventories, training, data, technology, monitoring, and effects analyses.
