Walker River Paiute Tribe - Water Rights Settlement: The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) intends to issue a grant agreement to the Walker River Paiute Tribe for Walker River Paiute Tribe - Water Rights Settlement, under the authority of Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) 15.508, Public Law 107-171, as amended, Section 2507 Desert Terminal Lakes. Estimated total amount of agreement is $1,000,000.00. The objectives of the project are to conduct the negotiations successfully and work towards completing and securing a settlement agreement that satisfies the Tribes interests as well as resolves the pending litigation. The result would be for the benefit of Walker Lake and associated riparian and watershed resources and meet efforts consistent with supporting and conserving fish, wildlife, plant, and habitat resources. The objectives that will be worked towards accomplishing this goal include:

• Securing a water right for restored Reservation lands
• Recognition of Weber Reservoir water right
• Recognized jurisdiction of Tribal Groundwater
• Evaluation of losses/damages assessment of costs
• Development of all facets that are included in a settlement package
• Develop a water code
• Purchasing allotted lands along the river corridor on Reservation.
