Wetland Restoration in PPJV Priority Areas of the Iowa Wetland Management District: This project will restore wetland basins critical for the life cycles of wetland dependent migratory bird species. Waterfowl Production Areas in the Iowa Wetland Management District are located in defined Prairie Pothole Joint Venture priority complexes. These complexes are made up of a combination of state and federally protected migratory bird habitat increasing the wildlife value. This project will provide the funds necessary to complete wetland restoration projects within the PPJV Priority Areas of the Iowa Wetland Management District. More specifically wetland basins will be restored in the Kowa Marsh and Black Hawk Marsh Wetland Complex, Sac County, Iowa. Diamond Lake, Christopherson Slough, and Spring Run Wetland Complex, Dickinson County, Iowa. Goose Lake Wetland Complex, Kossuth County, Iowa. This is a notice of intent to award a single source cooperative agreement to Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IADNR) without competition under justification 505DM 2.14.B.1,2, and 4. IADNR will be the recipient of this Cooperative Agreement funding due to the unique relationship they have with the USFWS Iowa Wetland Management District. For many years the IADNR has managed many of the Waterfowl Production Areas contained in the Iowa Wetland Management District for the USFWS through a signed Memorandum of Understanding. IADNR routinely designs and plans these wetland restoration projects in coordination with the Service.
