CESU Arizona-Translocation Analysis for Flat-tailed Horned Lizard (FTHL): The principle purpose of this program is to fund the design, implementation, to conduct a detailed analysis intended to assist land managers in decision-making regarding if, when, and how Flat-tailed Horned Lizard (FTHL) (Phyrnosoma mcallii) translocation is a reasonable option to species management. This comprehensive document will be based on a thorough literature review considering previous translocation studies of lizards, snakes, and small desert vertebrates in general and horned lizards in particular. The meta-analysis will be placed in the context of what is known about the biology of FTHL and other horned lizard species, with an emphasis on application to FTHL throughout the species' range and under a variety of conditions (e.g., large vs. small scale disturbance, habitat suitability, predator/prey abundance, genetic factors, and costs).
