Identification of Factors Associated with Failure of Arteriovenous Fistulas to Mature in Hemodialysis Patients (U01): -This initiative will support a consortium of investigators to conduct a prospective multi-center observational cohort study investigating clinical factors which may be predictive and/or are associated with the failure of newly placed arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) to mature in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). -In FY 2008, the NIDDK anticipates awarding a total of $3.0 million to establish this new research program. -Six to eight awards to Participating Clinical Centers and one award to a Data Coordinating Center are anticipated.
