Increasing Land Trust Capacity in Eastern Oregon: The key objective of this project is to increase implementation of the ACEP ALE program in the Eastern Oregon counties of Umatilla, Morrow, Gilliam, Grant, Wheeler, Union, Baker, Malheur, Harney, Klamath, and Lake. Specifically, the successful proposal in response to this Notice of Funding Opportunity will: 1. Create a database of natural resources agencies and partners in Eastern Oregon and determine their interest in ACEP service expansion in this region. Identify all of the potential partners that are serving, or could serve, this region. Then, conduct one-to-one conversations with each prospect about how they would like to serve Eastern Oregon. Create a report of our findings and recommendations of how NRCS could support these partners as they begin (or continue) their Eastern Oregon work. 2. Help soil and water conservation districts (“SWCDs”) develop local conservation policies.
