River Herring and American Eel Access and Abundance through Side-Opening Gates in Water Control Structures at Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge, North Carolina: THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE, AND THERE IS NO FULL ANNOUNCEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a cooperative agreement to be used to [Management concerns over river herring (Alosa pseudoharengus and Alosa aestivalis) and American eel (Anguilla rostrata) access and abundance in Lake Mattamuskeet (of Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge, MNWR) and its four man-made canals that connect it to Pamlico Sound are the premise for this research.
