Weed Identification Project: The project will consist of weed identification in and adjacent to oil fields located primarily within Weston County, Wyoming. The specific target locations will be the oil fields of Mush Creek, Skull Creek, Osage, East Fiddler Creek and Finn/Shurley. The information collected during the site visit will be mapped and catalogued. The collected data will ultimately be utilized to develop preferred methods and procedures for weed containment and eradication. The optimum time for species identification is during the "peak" growing season. The tentative project dates are from May 29, 2007 through June 12, 2007. BLM will provide project oversight and management. BLM will be involved to the extent of providing leadership and educational direction. BLM will identify the locations of the field surveys and instruct the recipient on methods and procedures of data collection. BLM will not be responsible for direct supervision of the recipient. The collected data will be utilized for scientific evaluation and "matched" to the most advantageous control method.
