Enhancing Water Supply Reliability Through Improved Predictive Capacity And Response: The Grant Agreement between the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) and the Board of Regents Arizona, University of Arizona will be issued against the Colorado Plateau Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit Cooperative and Joint Venture Agreement, 9-FG-81-0143 for the purpose of mutual assistance in conducting the project entitled "Enhancing Water Supply Reliability through Improved Predictive Capacity and Response." This project further develops research partnerships and extends seven prior years of work on a multi-pronged approach to preparing for and responding to variable Colorado River supply reliability in the Lower Basin. General areas of work include: a) enhancing our understanding of current and future climatological drivers of drought in the Colorado River Basin; b) evaluating specific management tools designed to improve system conservation, particularly in the Lower Basin; and c) engaging, in collaboration with other research groups, key stakeholders to exchange knowledge related to state-of-the-art hydroclimatic research and water resource management in the Colorado River basin.
