Strengthening Global Capacity for Molecular Surveillance and Outbreak Response for Enteric Diseases: The purpose of this NOFO is to strengthen global capacity for molecular surveillance and outbreak response for enteric diseases. The Surveillance strategy will include the following activities: 1) Capacity building for enteric disease surveillance, including case confirmation. 2) Wastewater and Environmental Surveillance capacity building; 3) Regional capacity building for Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), bioinformatics, lab diagnosis and outbreak preparedness; 4) Country-level WGS and lab diagnosis capacity building. The Outbreak Response strategy will include the following activities: 1) Regional enteric disease outbreak response technical assistance; 2) Country-level Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) program capacity building; and 3) Epidemiology and laboratory workforce development for enteric diseases. Locations of activities will vary geographically to include multiple regional and country-level locations, based on CDC priority.
