DOI Project #PMH 15; Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief; Tidal Marsh Restoration Prime Hook NWR, Delaware: This is an announcement for issuing a single source financial assistance award to Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Delaware Coastal Programs (DCP). The Department of the Interior project number is PMH 15. This award is issued to provide financial assistance to collaboratively-developed priority projects in Hurricane Sandy disaster areas that will restore environmental resources and improve resiliency. The intent of the award is to provide multi-faceted support for monitoring activities associated with tidal marsh restoration at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in Milton, Delaware. This large-scale tidal marsh restoration is intended to increase resiliency, restore ecosystem function, and improve fish and wildlife habitat in refuge wetlands that were previously managed as freshwater impoundments, which were significantly impacted by dune breaches during recent storms, including Hurricane Sandy.
